The 5th Annual FAME Awards Finalists Are Announced

The Junior League of San Antonio continues its sustaining effort to award the best and brightest performing arts programs in public and private high schools in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

SAN ANTONIO - March 26, 2019 - PRLog -- The Junior League of San Antonio (JLSA), Inc. just announced its finalists for the FAME Awards. The finalists are the best and the brightest in performing arts and will be honored on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. Laurie Auditorium at Trinity University. The event is FREE and OPEN to the public.  Through the FAME Awards, the Junior League of San Antonio is able to impact arts education and support local youth in the performing arts.

FAME stands for Funding Arts and Music Education. Through the FAME Awards, the Junior League of San Antonio is able to impact arts education and support local youth in the performing arts.

"From their musicality to their acting skills to their graceful movements, each finalist exemplifies a commitment to advancing San Antonio's performing arts community, and we are excited to see their final act on Sunday, April 7th. Congratulations!" says Joy McGaugh, President of the Junior League of San Antonio.

Congratulations to the 2019 FAME Awards Finalists!

Dance Performance:
• Brandeis High School
• Reagan High School
• Warren High School

Instrumental Performance:
• Churchill High School
• Holmes High School
• Reagan High School

Theatrical Performance:
• Brennan High School
• East Central High School
• Providence Catholic High School

Vocal Performance:
• Brandeis High School
• Reagan High School
• Taft High School

On Sunday, April 7, 2019, each of the finalists will perform live to a panel of judges in each category. Points will be awarded based on Technical Skill, Artistic Presentation, Level of Difficulty, and Overall Performance.

Twelve thousand dollars in grants will be awarded to the fine arts programs at the finalists' schools. First place performances in each of the four categories will earn $2,000 grants, second place will earn $750, and third place will earn $250 as determined by an expert panel of judges.

Since the inaugural FAME Awards in 2015, the Junior League of San Antonio has awarded nearly $40,000 in monetary grants to high school art programs in San Antonio, Texas. To learn more about the 5th Annual FAME Awards visit https://www.jlsa.org/fame/
