Zinc boosts your immunity and that's not just from the sun

Most people associate zinc with sunscreen and is mostly used by cricketers to protect themselves from the scorching sun, but there are beneficial uses of it too.

Zinc is mostly found in Seafood, meat and the exercising humans favorite: Eggs. Zinc is also fund in plant based food. Lamb also contains Zinc but in limited amounts and since consuming it generates a ,lot of heat in the body one should always keep themselves on a tight leash with this source of Zinc.

Hemp seeds contain a bit of Zinc and can be sprinkled on salads or yogurts as most people find it hard to eat them as a standalone.

Another Asian culinary favorite: Chickpeas are also a great source of Zinc and protein and is a favorite with health experts in India and some Armies are also reported to use it in daily diets. The use of chickpeas is probably why Asians have a higher resistance to sun rays and tanning. Black Beans are also a moderate source of Zinc and are an American favorite.

The most common and unheard source of Zinc is Cashew; it is the most affordable and easily available source of Zinc and other minerals and is good in raw or roasted form. It can also be stored for a long period of time and thus is the most economical source of minerals available today. There two other rather unknown sources of Zinc: Cheddar Cheese and Greek Yog hurt, these however are not easily available and are not a hit among people and thus have been mentioned as a last measure.

Another amazing fact about zinc is that it is used to cure diarrhea. It has also been found that it is has a very crucial role in how neurons communicate with each other and how we learn and build memory.

Zinc deficiency has a wide range of effects on the body starting with a great loss of appetite and anemia. As discussed earlier in the article it will also result in slow wound healing and can also be the cause of acne. It is also a cause of hair loss which is a major cause of worry and stress these days.  Zinc deficiency has also been linked to depressed growth in children and lack of cognitive abilities in puberty attaining children.

Excess of everything is bad and an over abundance of Zinc can have disastrous side effects, nausea, vomiting, chronic stomach pains and headaches. Zinc maybe used to cure diarrhea but an excess of it can also be the cause of the same and can be on full swing till the body balances itself out.

Now, before you go out and start buying zinc tablets or cheated zinc, you should know that you need exercise and body activity to be able to absorb zinc.
