ScaleLA Launches Healthcare Innovation Space

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 27, 2019 - PRLog -- On January 17^th, ScaleLA formally opened a 15,000 square foot innovation space dedicated to the growth and prosperity of the healthcare ecosystem in the Los Angeles area. Designed and built over the past year, the space has been named "The 10^thFloor," and will provide resources for hand-selected healthcare and life science startups to collaborate, build partnerships, secure investments, and implement their vision for a stronger, healthier region. Since the grand opening, over 30 companies have joined The 10^thFloor and are already building the latest innovations in healthcare technology. ScaleLA and participating startups aim to serve one million patients by 2025.

ScaleLA CEO Taylor McPartland announced the opening, stating "We believe that the Los Angeles area is positioned to be the next hub of healthcare innovation in our nation.  It's ScaleLA's mission to provide those innovators and entrepreneurs with the resources they need to secure funding, build partnerships with healthcare leaders, and provide value back to the community."

Included among ScaleLA's partners are many of the region's most prominent healthcare providers and entrepreneurial executives.

"L.A. has some of the most innovative and experimental payers and providers in the country, and a huge and diverse patient population," says Kevin Zhang, member of ScaleLA's Steering Committee and Partner at Upfront Ventures, the largest venture capital firm in Los Angeles with $2B assets under management. "Add to that an exploding tech talent base, there's no better place to build and test the next great healthcare technology, model or service."
