SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Feb. 6, 2019 - PRLog -- The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce members recognize the extraordinary efforts made by the men and women who serve in the region's 24 volunteer fire and emergency service companies. When establishing preparations for the chamber's 105th anniversary year; it was clear that dedication during this milestone would include area non profits with an emphasis on the Volunteer First Responders who help the community thrive. The regional chamber has extended honorary membership to all area companies, and commits resources to assist with event promotion,  volunteer recruitment and other non profit solutions to raise awareness to the importance of keeping these heroic organizations strong.

To recognize and honor these companies, an appreciation dinner was held at Stafford Township EMS building in Manahawkin which was catered by Sweet Jenny's. Southern Ocean Chamber CEO Lori Pepenella and Business Outreach Coordinator Kate Krier presented a new member orientation along with official membership certificates to representatives from Barnegat First Aid Squad, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Station 11, Barnegat LIght First Aid Squad, Eagleswood Volunteer Fire Company, Station 52 Great Bay Regional EMS Squad 85, Parkertown Volunteer Fire Company, Ship Bottom Volunteer FIre Company, Stafford Township EMS, Stafford Volunteer Fire Company 1, Waretown Volunteer Fire Company , Surf City Volunteer Fire Co and Parkertown Fire House.
