REBUILD globally Hosting Runway to Haiti, Fundraiser and Fashion Show on February 22

ORLANDO, Fla. - Jan. 10, 2019 - PRLog -- Join REBUILD globally, a non-profit alleviating poverty in Haiti through education and enterprise, for their annual fundraiser on February 22, 2019. Runway to Haiti: A Night of Impact and Ethical Fashion will run from 7:00 - 11:00 pm at the Country Club of Orlando and will feature notable corporate sponsors like JetBlue Airlines, Rollins College, the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins, Bangalower, and Mid Florida Golf Cars Distributors.

Featuring a runway show celebrating prominent ethical fashion brands, including REBUILD's own partner company, deux mains designs, and a curated raffle contributed to by local businesses, Runway to Haiti will be dedicated to raising funds for REBUILD globally's impactful, widely recognized work of long-term, sustainable poverty alleviation in Haiti.

The Runway show will exhibit the 2019 collection of ethically sourced and handmade sandals, accessories, and handbags created in Haiti by deux mains designs. During the night, you will not only have the chance to shop deux mains' new line, but also to enjoy excellent food & wine inspired by Haiti's vibrant culture and to converse with some of Orlando's most eminent community members.

Local celebrities and runway models include:

• Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer
• Dick Batchelor, president of Dick Batchelor Management Group, Inc.,
• Chris Castro, Director of Sustainability & Resilience for the City of Orlando
• Modoline Altenor, Mrs. Haiti International 2018

WESH TV Orlando reporter Amanda Ober will MC the night's activities and, later on, CEO Julie Colombino will announce the annual Orlando Global Citizen Award winner. This award highlights local heros who dedicate their time, effort, and energy to make Orlando a better place, and who also extend their generosity globally, outside the city limits.

The night will culminate in a presentation on the groundbreaking work being done in Haiti by REBUILD globally. Begun after the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, REBUILD globally fights systemic poverty by creating living wage jobs in Haiti with its partner, deux mains, and by supplying education, job-training, and community development programs to supply Haitians with opportunities to succeed.

Moreover, in fighting the systemic and generational nature of this poverty, REBUILD focuses much of its attention on its holistic educational program, which encourages students to succeed and empowers them with financial scholarships, personalized tutoring, and mentorship. Once students have graduated the Elèv program, they are able to transition into the Lavi program for job training and are guaranteed a living wage job at deux mains with access to university scholarships.

Education in Haiti is oftentimes not accessible or affordable; REBUILD upends the status quo by making education in Haiti feasible for the next generation of Haitian leaders. By focusing on the education of its children, REBUILD invests in the future of Haiti to break the cycle of generational poverty. Join REBUILD in the celebration of progress this February!
