Best Mattress Buys Donates Mattresses to Family Sleeping on the Floor

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Jan. 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Owners of Best Mattress Buys, with locations in Ormond Beach and Palm Coast, have donated three mattresses to a single mother and two children in Daytona Beach that had been sleeping on the floor. The family received one queen and two twin Black Bamboo Euro Pillow Top sets. They also received steel bed frames, mattress protectors, and four pillows – a value of over $1,500.

Co-owner of Best Mattress Buys, Glenn Wilcox reached out to the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach to find a deserving family for the donations. The club, in the midst of Project Share, one of the largest, if not the largest holiday toy distributions in the area, contacted Pastor Daisy Mae Henry. "Pastor Daisy" as she's known in the community, is pastor at the Spirit of Truth Outreach Ministers, a church on Elm Street in Bunnell, and pastors to many families with socioeconomic challenges. When she received the call, she couldn't believe it, she had just been told of a single mother with children in Daytona Beach that were all sleeping on the floor. Rotary representative Cindy Dalecki reached out to the mother and set up a time for Best Mattress Buys to deliver the mattresses.

"Everyone deserves a good nights sleep, and sleeping on the floor certainly doesn't give you that," said Glenn Wilcox. "I wanted to give back to a family that was in true need, and we are pleased to have been given the opportunity to help make this family's Christmas, a better one," Glenn added.

Tiwana Martin, and her two sons, ages 16 and 17, were truly grateful for the donation. They have been living in their apartment for over a month with no beds. The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach also arranged for a dining room table to be donated to the family later in the week from a family in Palm Coast.

Co-owner Glenn Wilcox is a Vietnam era veteran and has been actively working in the mattress industry since 2002.
