United Premier Soccer League Announces Levi United FC as Southeast Conference Expansion Team

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 14, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to welcome Levi United FC as a new member starting with the 2019 Fall Season.

Based in Greenville (N.C.), Levi United FC will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division, and host its home games within the Pitt County Schools in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Southeast Conference Manager Andy Salandy said, "Levi United FC a great addition as we continue to get teams from East, West, North and South. Levi United FC sees the value in the UPSL as a league, and will bring the quality young players from Greenville, N.C., to the Southeast Conference. We're excited to add more quality organizations from North Carolina, and Greenville is growing as soccer across the state continues to be huge. Bringing a team into the league from the East Carolina area will connect the other teams from Raleigh to Greenville to South Carolina, so this is good for the league and we're excited about Levi United FC."

Emmanuel Sarkorh, 23, is Founder and President of Levi United FC. A native of Liberia, West Africa, Sarkorh is a graduate of Huntersville (N.C.)'s North Macklenburg High School and is on track to receive a BA in Sports Studies and Business Administration from Greenville (N.C.)'s East Carolina University.

Levi United FC Founder and President Emmanuel Sarkorh said, "In the Pitt County region there are a lot of people into soccer. The local community is really into it so the market is great in Greenville and Pitt County. Having a Pro Development club will be a great way to help this community and give soccer exposure to East Carolina. The community is excited. They're ready to get behind something special like this and put the focus on us."

Sarkorh played collegiately at Murfreesboro (N.C.)'s Chowan University (NCAA) in 2013-'14 before transferring to East Carolina University to complete his degree. He also has served as a coach for the Pitt Greenville Soccer Association.

The club will host tryouts beginning in December, and soon will announce its upcoming UPSL game schedule.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season.
