Dialysis Clinic, Inc., opens DCI Southwest Mesa to serve expanding need for dialysis in the Albuquerque area

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sept. 10, 2018 - PRLog -- Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI), Southwest Mesa Clinic, is hosting an open house at its new facility, located at 8121 Central NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87121. The general public is invited to tour the facility, enjoy refreshments and participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

"DCI has a long-standing relationship with the Albuquerque community. We're delighted to be able to offer our dialysis patients an additional new clinic that will meet the expanding need for dialysis services," said Rodrigo Madero, RN, nurse manager for DCI.

DCI Southwest Mesa is the fifth DCI dialysis center in the Albuquerque area. According to the latest information from the United States Renal Data System, the number of people with kidney failure has steadily increased in New Mexico. In 2013 there were 1929.7 patients per million; 2014 saw 1968.4 patients per million; and 2015 realized 2034.2 patients per million in the population.

The recently built facility began serving patients in August of 2018. The new facility offers patients a flat entrance for easy access to the building, a covered portico, and a bright and airy atmosphere. Each patient station has its own flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi access, and a new dialysis chair.

"Everything is new inside the DCI SW Mesa dialysis facility, except the staff," said Rodrigo.

The open house is an opportunity for the community to meet the care team. Medical Director, Jonathan Owen, MD, will be in attendance. Participants are encouraged to ask questions about kidney disease and DCI's comprehensive care strategy.

The 20-station facility offers in-center hemodialysis Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. DCI Southwest Mesa is welcoming new patients and also invites patients traveling to the area who may need dialysis to receive care in the facility.

"We have built a state of the art dialysis center to provide the expanding dialysis community with the best services possible," Scott Avery, DCI Area Operations Director, said. "I hope the community will join us on Tuesday to see for themselves how wonderful our new facility really is."
