This art installation is created with 80-90% recycled materials, with the three dimensional trees made from corrugated, donated newsprint, crepe paper and tissue papers. It is a creation of a rain forest of trees, an environment to experience and enjoy. There are stories of the trees, their creation (of the art) and inspiration. Featured during opening night is the body art and headdresses by Michele Lacy, whose live art will be roaming around the forest. Photo opportunities, "live" trees, and a rainforest of art awaits you at the Opening Reception. Don't miss it! And this is for charity! The artist has selected One Tree Planted and is donating 10% of the proceeds from both from her website www.rondarichley.com and during the event through October 12. There will also be a collection box and a link to the site of the fundraiser, https://onetreeplanted.giv.sh/ For those who are unable to attend and do not want to miss the event, it is going to be videod, posted on all social media, within two weeks of the event. Installation event from 6 pm till 9 pm, during Third Thursday Art Walk, September 20. Exhibition will be up through October 13. A statement from the Artist: "I am the Ultimate Tree Hugger. Really, I mean I hug trees! I love that they give so much to us--the oxygen we breathe, shelter from the heat, sun and rain, a place to play when we are kids. And, these wonderful trees don't ask for anything in return...just to live. So I have become known as "The Tree Lady." That name was given to be by an artist from Ormond Beach, who was introduced to me by a gallery owner. When he said my name she immediately said, "Oh, the Tree Lady!" very excitedly, as my reputation had already begun. So the name stuck, and people still say, "The Tree Lady" when they meet me. I mainly paint trees, at least for the moment...but that moment has flickered in and out for over 30 years, just can't stop it from being there. I paint endangered trees, memorializing them for eternity. I interpret photos of trees my friends and clients send me and paint them with their stories. People are always sending me or tagging me in photos they find that remind them of me especially when they understand the figures that are ever-present in my trees. My trees are narratives. About me. About you. About the journey of the tree. About life. I begin the story or give you a glimpse of it so that YOU the audience can finish it your way. Check out my website http://www.rondarichley.com, read my blog there to learn about my trees, and purchase paintings or prints directly from the website. And, while you are there, sign up for my newsletter." End
