Four Tomoka Eye Associates Staff Have Earned a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Tomoka Eye Associates is pleased to announce that four members of their staff have earned their Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification.

Alicia Thompkins, Angela Mobley, Jill Dilley and Megan Thomas have earned their COA certifications. Alicia has worked in the ophthalmology industry for over 10 years and has worked at Tomoka Eye for one year.  Angela has worked at Tomoka Eye for five years, and Jill has worked at Tomoka Eye for two years. Megan has been in the field for one year and has worked at Tomoka Eye for the past year.

"We've had over eight team members this past year that received certifications and our goal is to have our entire staff certified within the next year," said Technical Training Manager Tracy Rodriguez. "We feel a certified staff delivers next level care," she added. Tracy has been in the industry since 1987.

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is an entry-level core designation. The COA designation confirms an assistant's knowledge in 19 specific content areas. The COA certification examination is three hours in length and is comprised of 200 scored multiple-choice questions. The staff earned the certifications through the JCAHPO.
