By: Flagler Tiger Bay Club Flagler Tiger Bay Club formed last month and is a nonpartisan club that caters to a diverse group of members. Members have an interest in politics, things that effect politics, civic, and other current event issues. Members have common bonds in civility, respectful and frank dialog and discussion, and commitment to making their community and lives better through differing points of view, knowledge, and information sharing. As a nonpartisan organization, Flagler Tiger Bay Club does not endorse candidates or take sides on issues. "There are very active Tiger Bay Club's in surrounding areas such as Daytona Beach and Jacksonville, and we felt the time was right to launch a club in Flagler County," said Greg Davis, one of the club's co-chairs and founding members. "The response has been quite positive, we have already received over 150 people expressing interest in joining as founding members," he added. "Our goal is to bring state and national speakers to our members for whom Flagler County is not normally on their radar," Don Madden, one of the club's co-chairs and founding members. The club's goal is to have 180 members by the end of August. The club ensures the stability of its nonpartisanship organization through a Board of Directors made up equally of democrats, republicans, and non-party affiliates. No one party has control of executive leadership or the board. The Flagler Tiger Bay Board of Directors include; John Birney, John Brady, Cindy Dalecki, Greg Davis, Frank DeAngelo, Rebecca DeLorenzo, Ed Fuller, Awilda Hamilton, Howard Holley, Mark Langello, Don Madden, Cheri D. Orr, Jake Scully, Lea Stokes, Helga van Eckert and Gary Walsh. Flagler Tiger Bay meets monthly, with most meetings closed to members and their guests. Typically, meetings are one hour over lunch with a speaker or panel to present or discuss topics and issues that are political, civic, or things that may or will impact on politics. The inaugural event will be held at the Palm Coast Community Center on August 23rd at 6:00pm and those interested in attending to find out more about the club or join, can visit www.FlaglerTigerBayClub.com to register for the event. Annual membership dues for the club are $350.00, with a $100 registration fee. For more information, or to join the club, those interested can visit www.FlaglerTigerBayClub.com. Stephen Paul Ross, a political consultant, led the group that founded Tiger Bay. It was founded as a nonpartisan political club. There is no central Tiger Bay Organization. Through a loose affiliation, Tiger Bay has grown to over 20 clubs in Florida. The clubs tend to model their bi-laws from the same document. End
