Follow on Google News | 5asideCHESS to take part in Edinburgh Fringe Festival on tour to battle loneliness and suicideBy: 5asideCHESS Since starting in Cambridge in mid July the two man team, Ross Smith and Ryan Child, have brought their message, 'your 1st move is Hello', to hundreds of people at festivals, cafes, homeless shelters and community projects and played countless games of 5asideCHESS along the way. Ryan said, "As well as introducing people to the well known mental health benefits of chess, the bus is also acting as a moving memorial wall to loved ones lost to suicide or who are suffering from serious mental health issues. Some of the messages already written on the bus are incredibly emotional. So many follow the theme of 'I just wish we had talked'. We are so excited to be bringing the bus to the global audience who visit Fringe each year. The bus is capturing peoples' attention and imagination and raising awareness in a way that no amount of handing out leaflets about mental health could do". After Edinburgh the bus will start its return journey back down through cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham before ending in Bath in mid September. Child is blogging throughout the journey on 5asideCHESS social media channels and on www.5asideCHESS.com Full tour schedule details are also available on the website. They welcome anyone interested to get involved by messaging ryan@5asidechess.com For more information about 5asideCHESS and the Battling Suicide Bus Tour, visit www.5asideCHESS.com End
