PRLog -- The book looks at the perspective of Peripheral Neuropathy from the viewpoint of one who is experiencing the condition, being me. Those who have never suffered the condition, are often surprised when they hear of the type symptoms it causes. They are also surprised to know that not only diabetes and pre-diabetes can cause this problem of nerve pain but it can also result from things such as vitamin deficiencies and injuries to areas of the body such as the spine or brain.
My case of this medical condition, I believe is largely due to diabetes but in my case I have an arthritic spine, including a herniated disc. While some people see near-total relief with prescribed medications, others see only moderate or mild relief. Other types of medical help can help as well, including certain types of surgeries and physical therapies. According to reputable medical sources, there are more than 100 identified types of Peripheral Neuropathies (PN) that are experienced by between 15 and 30 million people in the U.S. and at least 130 million people, globally (statistics vary somewhat among sources). I share my own story with PN struggles.
