-- Down & Out Books announced today that NEW WAVE CRIME will join its publishing family. Founded and edited by Chantelle Aimée Osman, New Wave Crime will focus on diversity of plot, culture, and character, and champion new voices in the crime genre.
"I am very excited to be working with Chantelle on this new venture," said Eric Campbell, publisher of Down & Out Books. "She brings a unique focus to the crime genre and I am looking forward to publishing titles that reflect her vision."
"When I approached Eric about my idea for a new division under Down & Out Books, he was immediately enthusiastic about making it happen," added Osman. "I am so thrilled to be joining a team of crime fiction professionals that are making a difference in the publishing community."

downandoutbooks.com, and expects the first titles to be published in early 2019.
About Chantelle Aimée Osman and New Wave Crime: The former Editor-in-Chief of RT Book Reviews and a freelance editor for over 10 years, she is the co-host of the Crime Friction podcast as well an instructor at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, Authors at Large and LitReactor. Chantelle is the author of the non-fiction series on writing The Quick and Dirty Guide To… and has also published numerous works of short fiction and served as editor for several anthologies. She is currently editing an episodic thriller, Serial Killer, featuring a variety of authors including Jeffery Deaver, Eoin Colfer, Jason Starr and herself. She was named a Left Coast Crime Guest of Honor in 2016, and will be keynote speaker at CCWC 2018.
