Surprising Outcome of Super Bowl 2018!

More employers adopt Telework following the Super Bowl after trying it for the first time!

MINNEAPOLIS - May 10, 2018 - PRLog -- As Twin Cities Employers braced themselves for Super Bowl 2018 they went through a laundry list of preparations to keep their employees engaged and productive during one of the biggest events of the year. Most of the concerns were around getting to and from work along with parking challenges.

In an effort to support employers during this unprecedented time eWorkPlace Minnesota, a program dedicated to helping employers implement telework, hosted a free webinar for local companies; Super Bowl Hacks for Twin Cities Employers. This webinar provided tips and tools to help companies avoid the challenge of an over populated downtown and help employees work from home.

"This was by far the highest attendance we have had at one of our events, over 100 human resources professionals registered" said Kathy Kacher, eWorkPlace training partner. "eWorkPlace Minnesota has been providing free training resources for many years to employers, but the Super Bowl was definitely a catalyst for organizations to test the concept."

Last week eWorkPlace Minnesota followed up with organizations to see how they fared and were interested to learn that not only did a large number of employers implement or ramp up their telework programs, but many of them have continued to enable telework.

Over 80% of survey respondents reported an increase in telework during the Super Bowl and 67% shared that they have continued to use telework inside their organizations. Not surprising, 100% of respondents shared that employee productivity did not decline when they were working away from the office and several reported that is actually increased.

One respondent shared, "This experience sparked conversation and debate with our owner about teleworking and resulted in a formal telework policy being developed and published to our staff company-wide." As well as, "As our business becomes more paperless and more virtual, we will be working remote more often in the future.  Target 2019/2020."

It's good to hear that organizations are continuing to adopt telework practices, not only is it good for employees wellbeing and productivity, it can boost an organization's bottom line if done correctly. Don't worry Twin Cities, there is an even greater opportunity to test our your telework programs because a historical road construction season has begun and won't be completed until 2020.
