FORT MYERS, Fla. - May 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida's Megan Feeney, Director of Disability Support Services, was honored at the D3 Event (Disability Dream & Do), as the recipient of the Dave Clark Foundation's distinguished Pulling Each Other Along Award.

The Dave Clark Pulling Each Other along Award honors the notable contributions of those who have helped others achieve their dreams under exceptional circumstances. Feeney was recognized April 29 for her contributions as a professional in the disability field.

"Megan has been a leader in the community as an advocate for people with disabilities and she has been instrumental in growing Pathways to Opportunity, our day-training program for adults with disabilities," said Fred Richards, Goodwill's Vice President of Community Support Services.

The Dave Clark Foundation was founded by Dave Clark who went on to achieve athletic notoriety as a professional baseball pitcher despite his perceived limitations. As an infant, Dave contracted polio. It stunted his growth and left him without the full use of his legs. But despite that, perhaps because of it, he was driven to excel in physical competition against so-called able-bodied people. The vision of the Dave Clark Foundation is to inspire people to overcome personal challenges and perceived limitations in order to lead satisfying and productive lives.

"Megan and her team exemplify this vision," Richards added.
