DataFile Technologies Announces New CIO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - May 1, 2018 - PRLog -- DataFile Technologies, a leader in health information management & technology, announced today that Shawn Whitcomb has joined the organization as Chief Information Officer.  Whitcomb comes to DataFile with more than 25 years of combined experience in executive technical leadership, cybersecurity, strategy, enterprise architecture and innovation in a variety of industries including healthcare, engineering, legal, media, and government.  He will lead DataFile's technology initiatives embracing the industry advancements of interoperability as well as to continue to spearhead secure, robust connections to healthcare providers, patients and third-party requestors.

In the healthcare industry, Whitcomb served as CIO and Senior Vice President of Pathology Associated Medical Laboratories, and CIO of ExamOne and Director of IT at Quest Diagnostics over their Wellness, Pain Management, and Employer Solutions products and technology services. Most recently, he served as the CIO of the city of Olathe, Kansas. Throughout Whitcomb's tenure, he has lead numerous large-scale initiatives including the building of a national direct-to-consumer laboratory web and mobile site, national electronic health records integrations, customized laboratory billing solution for processing both hospitals and provider practices and creating a next generation case management solution.  He also lead innovative charges for consumer wellness solutions as well as an incubation team for a new service using Artificial Intelligence voice technology.

Whitcomb earned a master's in science management from Baker University and bachelor's degrees in computer science and history from MidAmerica Nazarene University.   He received his CIO certificate in government from the University of North Carolina; and his CIO certification in Health Care from CHIME.
