An Evening of Romantic Trios (Beaux Arts Chamber Music Concert) – April 11th at 7:30 PM
An Evening of Romantic Russian Trios will feature beloved piano trios by Russian composers Anton Arensky and Tchaikovsky, performed by Avery Fischer award winner, violinist Chee-Yun, Naumburg award winner, cellist David Requiro, joined by pianists Catherine Lan and Tao Lin.

Chee-Yun is one of today's premier violinists. Her first public performance took place in her native Seoul after she won the Grand Prize of the Korean Times Competition at the age of eight. Her flawless technique, dazzling tone, and compelling artistry have captivated audiences on five continents. Chee-Yun performs with the world's foremost orchestras and chamber music groups, has appeared on radio and TV and is a prolific recording artist. In addition to her active performance and recording schedule, Chee-Yun teaches master classes around the world and has held several teaching posts at notable music schools and universities. She plays the Stradivarius "Ex-Strauss" (Cremona, 1708), allegedly so treasured that it was buried with one of its original owners in Norway for 200 years.

After beginning cello studies at the age of six, David Requiro has emerged as one of today's finest American cellists. A 2008 first prize winner of the prestigious Naumburg Competition, Requiro has played with orchestras and chamber music ensembles in the US and abroad, and been featured as a soloist with symphony orchestras including Ann Arbor, Santa Fe and Naples Philharmonic. Requiro has served as artist-in-residence at the University of Puget Sound and as guest lecturer at the University of Michigan and held numerous music festival faculty posts. In 2015, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and was recently appointed to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's prestigious CMS Two residency beginning in 2018.

Dr. Catherine Lan has performed in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, France, United Kingdom, Slovenia, and all over the United States in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Victoria Hall, and National Concert Hall. She made her first international debut at the age of eight in Japan.  Dr. Lan earned her degrees from the University of British-Columbia, Indiana University, and the University of Miami. She currently serves on the faculty of Broward College and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Also, she is the co-founder of Chrysalis Chamber Players and the Beaux Arts Chamber Music Series at Opera Naples.

Tao Lin, co-founder and Artistic Director of the Beaux Arts Chamber Music Series at Opera Naples, currently serves on the faculty of Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine and as a guest professor at Shanghai Normal University. He has numerous recordings on Centaur, Artek, Naxos, and Romeo labels. Critics have described Tao Lin as possessing "Keen musical intelligence and excellent facility," (Miami Herald) as well as "opulent and romantic tone." (Fanfare) Steinway artist Tao Lin performs internationally as a soloist with orchestras including Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony, and Miami Chamber Orchestra, in recital and in concert with distinguished musicians at notable venues and major music festivals.
