Acro yoga poses to practice with a partner

Acro Yoga is a partner-based exercise that combines yoga and acrobatics. here i am sharing information about what is acro yoga is all about and how to get started.

RISHIKESH, India - March 13, 2018 - PRLog -- The physical practice which merges yoga exercises, acrobatics and Thai massage is called as acroyoga. These three form of ancient exercises help to shape a fusion-style practice which helps to promote connection, trust and good humor between partners. Acro yoga positions are practiced with a partner and have been gaining popularity as a recommended fitness program for couples.

A base and a flyer are required during acroyoga sessions. A base is an individual who has the most points of ground contact. This person lies on the ground on the back. A flyer is an individual who is lifted off the ground with their entire body. The flyer can move in a sequence of energetic positions and usually allows gravity to do all the work.

In acroyoga, you do not have to worry about doing a yoga asana on your own but instead, you are sharing your experience of that yoga poses with a partner. Additionally, you will realize that partner yoga poses help to develop a spiritual and emotional connection with the fellow yogi. Besides, this will also help to teach your body how to develop more strength in new ways.

Acroyoga poses

Acroyoga is meant for yogis of any experience level, but you should try out the beginner partner yoga positions first and then move on to the advanced yoga postures. This will help in establishing a strong connection with your fellow partner. Here are some of the most popular acroyoga poses of different levels of difficulty:

Seated twist:

The twisting yoga poses are one of the perfect yoga poses for two people, as performing these with a partner can help you get a nice twist and also have a little fun while performing it. These poses help to release the toxins from the body and make the entire stagnant energy in the body move once again. To start with it, you and your partner will have to sit cross-legged with your backs touching each.

Then inhale as you lift both of your arms above to stretch the back. When you exhale, bring the arms down. At that position, place your right hand on your partner's knee as he/she does the same thing to you. Rest the left hand on your right knee. Enjoy the twist and return to the original position. Then try the same on the other side.

Boat Pose:

Boat pose is another yoga pose that helps to build the core strength. You can add a little of a challenge to this yoga posture and make it as a partner yoga challenge. To assume the pose, you have to sit down facing your partner. Then reach out and catch the wrist of each other. Have a tight grip and then use the power to straighten your back. Lift your chest as your partner does the same exact thing.

At this point, your knees have to be in a bent position and then touch your toes must touch the toes of your partner. Then, bring your knees towards your chest with the sole of your feet touching with the sole of your partner. Next, begin straightening your legs upwards, starting with one leg first. Stay in this pose for few breaths and then return to original position.

Dancer's pose:

This yoga pose is all about balance and trust, but it also helps to build a connection between you and your partner. Start by standing to face your partner and holding one of his/her hands. Then bend your one ankle and try to reach out for it with your hand. Your partner should do the same thing. Later lean yourself forward slowly and bring your leg back and up till you assume a dancer's pose. One partner can try this pose at a time, or both partners can get into the pose at the same time.

Once you learn about the strength and weaknesses of each other, you can then help one another grow and develop. However, if both of you face difficulties in doing the pose by yourself, then you can also consider enrolling in an acroyoga class that will guide you with the right acroyoga poses and brings prosperity, joy, and clarity in all that you do.
