Importance and Benefits of IPV6

Whitelabel ITSolutions wants you to know the importance of implementing Internet Protocol Version 6.

HACKENSACK, N.J. - March 6, 2018 - PRLog -- IPV6 or Internet Protocol Version 6 is the Internet's next-generation protocol, designed to replace the current Internet Protocol, IP Version 4. Internet Protocol Version 6 was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to deal with the long-anticipated problem of IPv4 address exhaustion. This protocol allows more unique TCP/IP address identifiers to be created. This extension anticipates considerable future growth of the Internet and provides relief for what was perceived as an impending shortage of network addresses. Internet Protocol Version 6 also supports auto-configuration to help correct most of the shortcomings in version 4, and it has integrated security and mobility features.

In other words, to communicate over the internet, all devices must have sender and receiver addresses; as the Internet and the number of people using it grows exponentially, so does the need for IP addresses. Knowing this Internet Protocol Version 6 was created to accommodate the growing number of users and devices accessing the Internet. IPV6 allows more users and devices to communicate on the Internet by using bigger numbers to create IP addresses. Internet Protocol Version 6 provides other technical benefits in addition to a larger addressing space. In particular, it permits hierarchical address allocation methods that facilitate route aggregation across the Internet, and thus limit the expansion of routing tables.

A massive advantage is that computers and applications will detect the IPV6 without requiring any action from the user; another advantage will be security it runs end-to-end encryption. IPV6 features a support source and destination address that are 128 bits long, it also requires IPSec support, IPV6 uses flow label field to identify packet flow for QoS handling by routers, it allows the host to send fragments packets but not routers, IPV6 Doesn't include a checksum in the header and uses a link-local scope all-nodes multicast address, another feature is that it doesn´t require manual configuration or DHCP, it uses host address (AAAA) resource records in DNS to map host names to IPv6 addresses, and many more. If we compare it to IPV4 the IPV6 has larger address space, it has multicasting, has stateless address autoconfiguration, offers network-layer security, it simplifies processing by routers, offers mobility and privacy. Step into the future upgrading to IPV6.
