BEDMINSTER, N.J. - March 5, 2018 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to announce its Members' Juried Exhibition at Frontline Arts in Branchburg, NJ on view now through March 24th.

A benefit of membership at The Center is the opportunity to submit work to Members' Exhibitions. Other benefits include free admission to artist demonstrations, reduced rates on art classes and workshops and discounted art supplies.

Juror Frank May selected twenty-five pieces from 118 entries submitted by members of The Center.

Mr. May awarded six prizes. The "Best in Show" award went to Mariette Boerstoel (Boonton Township, NJ) and Honorable Mentions were awarded to Robert Diken (Metuchen, NJ), Steven Epstein (Edison, NJ), Margaret Fanning (Warren, NJ), Helen Marie Farrant (Lebanon, NJ) and the Solo Exhibition Award at M Galleries in Washington, NJ went to Joseph Ursulo (Highland Park, NJ).

Juror Frank May stated, "With this members' exhibition, I wanted to establish a visual narrative in five lines. While going through the submissions, patterns began to emerge. I felt the work that stood out was speaking to me in five distinct visual languages. The languages consisted of contemporary ideas in abstraction, folk, figurative, nature, and sculptural dimension. I had the truly difficulty task of selecting work, knowing I had limited space. The quality and technical proficiency of the work submitted overall was strong and compelling. I want to thank everyone that submitted and shared their wonderful work with me. It is a deep honor to have been a part of creating this exhibition."

Juror Frank May is an artist, gallery owner and curator at M Galleries in Washington NJ, and a faculty member of the duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ. He graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts with a BFA in sculpture, with a concentration in ceramics. His work has been shown and is in private collections in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He founded M Galleries in 2016 to showcase New Jersey contemporary art and artists. At the duCret School of Art, he teaches Color Theory and Sculpture.
