With several records Year-2017 too proved Momentous for LPU

JALANDHAR, India - Jan. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- Jalandhar: With many illustrious achievements and initiatives taken throughout the year in diverse fields; the year 2017 too proved momentous for Lovely Professional University (LPU). Each day of the year-2017 emerged illustriously achieving, action-packed & eventful, when LPU received many international & national top leaders of diverse fields; made unbeatable placement record; signed important MoUs; got top ranks-awards; gathered accolades in academics, research, innovation, cultural- sports activities; organized international-national conferences; and, also shouldered top corporate social responsibility (CSR) works. In appreciation of LPU endeavours, great mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa displayed LPU Logo atop world's highest peak 'Mount Everest' to inspire all at LPU for more achievements world-wide. As every year, one of LPU's illustrious B Tech students, Ambika Sharma has been selected to be a part of New Delhi Republic Day Parade-2018.

World leaders, achievers and industry heads including former President of India Padma Vibhushan Dr Parnab Mukherjee;  Union HRD Minister Parkash Javdekar, Spiritual Guru Shri Shankaracharaya; Minister, Cricketer, TV Personality Navjot Singh Sidhu; Mr World Rohit Khandelwal, many Ambassadors of different countries to India; Management Gurus from 10 countries; 65 International delegates from 26 countries; MDs, CEOs, Celebrities and other top officials from industry and related fields inspired LPU students and staff members to keep on realizing big dreams.

LPU also hosted incredible events including oneness promoting annual fests of the university 'One India and One World'; 8 academic conferences; 100+ student events; 20 external competitions; 5 AIU (Association of Indian Universities) level events; 10 technical competitions and more. All of these were witnessed or participated by more than one lakh external visitors in addition to 30,000 students at the campus.

Winning many ranks, awards and accolades, LPU has been recognized with National Education Excellence Award- 2017 by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India; marked as one of the best among 777 Indian universities by top magazine "Higher Education Review"; and, beat IITs in the race of most technologically sound crowd in the country and has been ranked 2nd by HackerEarth. In addition, popular magazines including India Today, Entrepreneur, Out Look, SiliconIndia and many other have ranked LPU among top engineering, management institutes in India and also as university with excellent industry exposure. In addition 'Career Connect' has ranked it among top-10 "Excellent" distance education institutions of India.

LPU has also signed important MoUs with top-Ranked Kathmandu University (KU) of Nepal for global education in South Asia; American Livingstone College; and, Arkansas State University of the USA for student exchange programmes. In addition, US based Bentley Institute and LPU jointly set up 'Centre of Excellence' at LPU campus. Consul General of Canada, high-profiled delegation from one of the largest university of the world Tribhuvan University(Nepal), Monmouth University of USA, University of Indonesia, De Montfort University       (UK), Ping Xiang University (China), San Francisco State University (US), University of Skovde and Jonkoping International Business Schooll (Sweden), Polotsk State University (Belarus), Shin Han University (Korea) and more also sought collaborative opportunities with LPU in the academics and allied areas.

Illustrious LPU students won many prestigious awards in diverse fields and made LPU proud of them. Sagar Setia [B.Arch, 2012] got 66th Rank in IAS; MBA Student won many medals in national & international shooting championship; Engineering students won International Hackathons organized by ITC, Texas Instruments; US based E-Sports of India declared LPU Students National Champions; Cultural activities students won AIU's North Zone Championship once again; and, LPU International-student won the 'Debutant Actor Award' at 16th Bhutan National Film Awards. Similarly, LPU student won Students' Emmy & Oscar Awards in California; LPU M Tech Student presented Unique Solar Research work at International Conference in Hong Kong; 'Baadshah of Bollywood' Shah Rukh Khan backed & blessed talented Fine Arts students in TV reality show; Journalism & Film Production students won 7th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival Awards in 3 Categories; and, Princess of Bhutan inaugurated LPU International Students' debut painting exhibition- 'Warriors'.

LPU also celebrated record placement: Crossing the mark of expected placement drives & offers, the Year 2017 also proved job-prolific for LPU students, and LPU has come forward with unbeatable placement record. Students placed before their final examinations yet to be held after six months, were specially blessed and appreciated by Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu. This year, 3500+ offers for graduating batches 2017 & 2018 (including internships) have already been generated, with highest annual salary package of Rs 26.83 Lakh for engineering students and Rs 15.20 Lakh for management students.  Moreover, Rs 50,000 is the highest offered monthly stipend for full term Internship. Of these, more than 600 offers are extended alone by Fortune 500 companies.

This year, LPU has also added many big brands to recruit LPU students, including Directi, Morgan Stanley, Vmware, TIVO, Thought works, Ashok Leyland, Siemens,  Honda Two-wheelers, Renault Nissan, Schneider Electrical, Loreal, Federal Bank, Airbus, Allegis Group, GSFC Agrotech, Cipla, Must Garments and more. One of the selectors, Schneider Electrical, which hires from only 19 Institutes of the country like IITs and NITs, has included only one private university 'LPU' for its industry-ready students. Top social media network 'LinkedIn' has also preferred LPU students as Campus Editors.
