By: Kiwanis of Greater South Cobb Kiwanis members who give the gift of meaningful community service by inviting between one and 20 new members to serve alongside them are considered for the prestigious award. Depending on how many people the award recipient has invited to join the club, the Gift of Kiwanis awardee is recognized with a commemorative pin, certificates and or medallion as well as a congratulatory email from the Kiwanis International president. For a member to receive recognition for sponsoring a new Kiwanis member, that new member must have been brought in between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. During this time frame, Chalk sponsored six (6) new members of the Kiwanis of Greater South Cobb. "It has become a great joy of mine to bring new Kiwanians into our ranks to join us in serving the children of the world," Chalk said. "I can think of no higher calling than this. I'm greatly honored to receive the Gift of Kiwanis award." Chalk's recognition with the Gift of Kiwanis Award follows the receipt of two other honors this year, including the Walter Zeller Fellowship and the George Hixson Fellowship.
