Eddy Home Receives RIBO Accreditation
Canadian leader in smart leak prevention offering RIBO accredited courses for Insurance Brokers
By: Eddy Home
The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the accrediting body for all independent insurance brokers in the province of Ontario, regulating broker licensing, professional conduct, and continuing education. RIBO requires all brokers to obtain a minimum of 10 continuing education hours every year to maintain their license.
Eddy Home's course is an in-person, instructor-led seminar offering two Technical hours for brokers. This accreditation is the second Eddy Home course to be approved by RIBO. The first course, "The Internet of Things and Risk Reduction for Homeowners,"
"Insurance brokers protect their clients against risk," commented Shkya Ghanbarian, Director of Growth Strategy for Eddy Home. "We're thrilled at the response to our risk reduction seminars, as smart home water monitoring and leak detection is paramount to ensuring that a home is protected against water damage, the biggest risk facing homeowners today."
Eddy Home's suite of products is a comprehensive smart water and home environment monitoring solution that tracks water usage and ambient conditions in a home. The Eddy IQ tracks water usage, immediately alerting homeowners when abnormalities are detected, and offers remote and automatic shut off capabilities. The H2O sensors detect water, humidity, and temperature, providing the precise location of a water issue. Both communicate via the My Eddy Home App, an Android and iOS application that displays alerts in real time. Many insurance companies offer policy discounts of up to 15% for water damage prevention technologies, and following a major loss, entitlements of up to $5,000 for installation of our system may be available.
"With the looming threat of overland flooding, consumer education and preparation are key," stated Venky Weylagro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "IoT sensor technology, such as Eddy Home's H2O sensors, alerts users to the presence of water immediately, giving them time to respond and contain water damage before it's too late."
