LAS VEGAS - Nov. 10, 2017 - PRLog -- When tourists coming to McCarran Airport land at the airport, they are greeted with billboards and advertisements that talk about touring the Grand Canyon.  Because of the proximity to Las Vegas, many of these tourists have already considered booking a Grand Canyon tour, because if you have come this far it can't hurt to go a little farther in order to see one of the wonders of the world.  People who have seen the Grand Canyon in books or movies have fantasized about seeing it in person, and may have even planned the vacation their whole life, just dreaming about getting a picture at the edge of this spectacular place.  When the people in the airport look at the advertisements, they may be thinking that it seems a little closer than they thought because the billboards say it is only a few hours drive.  They also say you can visit the Grand Canyon "skywalk" once you are there, which is a glass bridge that suspends you over the rim.  They think to themselves "when did that get put in the national park, I thought there was no development allowed?"

The reason for this confusion is that the tours that are advertised to tourists in the airport in Las Vegas are not tours to the Grand Canyon National Park.  Instead, they are visiting an area of the Grand Canyon that is controlled by local Indian tribes, the skywalk being a tourist attraction they created to generate tourism.  This tour does not take you to the area you have seen in magazines, but instead takes you to an area that is far less scenic and lush.  While it is still technically the Grand Canyon, it is not the area that has been designated as protected by the government, and is not the area where you will find the hiking and activities that you have read about.

In order to book the correct Grand Canyon tour, make sure you ask your tour company if you will be visiting the "national park" section of the Grand Canyon or not.  Bindlestiff Tours offers tours of the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas that actually bring you to the national park for exploration and adventure.  To arrange a tour contact them at https://www.bindlestifftours.com/package/grand-canyon-ove...
