The 4-day event features contact with suppliers, coaches, and casting experts and other potential clients, with interactive learning from industry leaders in voice acting, recording, editing, and more. Mr. Goldberg will again conduct his popular Audition Workout session, with participants getting booth time, direction and feedback.
Topics covered by the conference are expected to include Audiobooks, Gaming, Animation, Narration, eLearning, Improv, and Promo/Imaging, and business aspects such as marketing, union/non-union issues, home and mobile studio operation.
"At Edge Studio, we produce VO in virtually every genre – no, make that literally every genre – and our range of coaches includes specialists in all aspects of our industry, so this event is a great match," Mr. Goldberg said. "VO Atlanta offers value to everyone from a seasoned pro to a voice-actor-
The theme of the 2018 event has not yet been announced. Last year's theme was "Elevate to Excellence."
"For an investment to perform, first you have to invest," observed Mr. Goldberg.
Attendees have agreed. In an Edge Studio TalkTime! call-in after the 2017 VO Atlanta, a participant said, "If I had paid twice what I invested to be there, it would have been worth it, just because of the conversations with people. I felt I got connected to some resources that I've known about but didn't really have a personal connection to – that if I ever need help, I can go to them, and that's what this community is about. Because you can't do this on your own. It doesn't happen on your own."
Of Mr. Goldberg's Audition Workout at last year's gathering, another caller said, "It was fantastic. Totally turned my entire way of thinking of interpreting copy and delivery and everything else on its ear. I can't thank him enough for that."
