Scott Turnquest Joins Kindur as CTO​​​​​

NEW YORK - Nov. 3, 2017 - PRLog -- We're thrilled to announce that, in parallel with our recent fundraising round, we have hired longtime software industry veteran, Scott Turnquest, as Kindur's first Chief Technology Officer.

Based in New York, Scott comes to us from GitHub, where he was most recently Senior Director of Application Engineering. Prior to that, he was Head of Product Engineering at Earnest Inc., a fintech startup in San Francisco that offers personal loans and student loan refinancing products. While there, he helped scale the company up from just a handful of employees to a team of more than 60 engineers and more than 200 total employees.

Scott's a builder.

His mission, he says, is to transform great ideas into great products, leveraging all the tools available to modern software engineers to do that. But he doesn't do it alone. The other part of Scott's mantra is building functional, empowered teams, based on his belief that trust and ownership lead to better, more productive and more accountable work.

And he's already getting started. At Kindur, Scott has been tasked with taking our first product from concept to reality, creating what will soon be a new way for retirees and their families to ensure health and wealth in retirement.

"It's great to be in an industry that is focused on empowering people and making their lives better," he says. "I always want to build things that matter, to do work that impacts people in a positive way, and retirement finance is an area that touches us all. We all retire at some point. But, at the same time, there is a lot of anxiety around retirement. People are worried about their finances, their savings and whether or not they will be able to enjoy the retirement they envision. I think that by removing some of the complexity around it and offering a financial path that's simple and easy, we can give people some real peace of mind."
