What is a friction Weld Strapping tool and what are the benefits of using one?

LIVERPOOL, U.K. - Nov. 3, 2017 - PRLog -- A friction weld tool is a battery operated, all in one strapping tool which tensions, seals and cuts the strapping in one action. The friction weld tool uses frictional heat to fuse the strapping together creating a stronger seal with a minimum break strength of 65% but aiming for 80% break strength.

Friction weld tools are available for 12mm and 16mm polypropylene or polyester strapping. Being battery operated makes these systems more flexible and portable to use in warehouse/packaging departments.

They are easy to use with single handed operations, long battery life and some can be pre-programmed on a touch panel to suit all applications.

The main benefits of using a friction weld tool is compared to other traditional methods are;

·         Time saving – a friction weld tool can tension, seal and cut within 5 seconds all through the use of one tool. The traditional method is to use the separate tensioner and sealer tools with seals, which is a time-consuming process and time is money!

·         Cost saving – a friction weld tool does not require the use of seals. This is a direct saving off the cost of strapping and the reduced resource time to fit speeds up your packaging line.

·         Strength – Friction weld strapping tools offer a stronger strapping bond than traditional seals. Seals can slip and loosen in transit sometimes leading to loads becoming unsecure.

·         Recycling- the absence of a mechanical metal seal makes the disposal and recycling of the strapping much easier.
