By: Cactus Productions and Hal Davidson Promoter Hal Davidson was gratified to hear the news after 41 years of relative obscurity. Davidson thanked the IBMA and everyone in attendance. Performing at the three day classic were: Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt, Bonnie Raitt, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Vassar Clements, John Prine, Doc & Merle Watson, The Rowans, The Dillards, Osborne Brothers, John Hartford, David Bromberg, Papa John Creach, Eric Weisberg and Deliverance, Ry Cooder, Hickory Wind, Red, White and Bluegrass, Star Spangled Washboard Band, New Grass Revival, Grass on the Rocks, Good Ol' Boys, and Joe & Bing. The epic lineup, 20 state promotion in the Bicentennial year, and a $12 weekend ticket attracted over 100,000 to the wild weekend now thought of as the Woodstock of Bluegrass.
