Express Workforce Foundation Looks Beyond Disability

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Sept. 13, 2017 - PRLog -- People with disabilities are one of the largest minorities in the United States. Express Workforce Foundation has a mission to provide a program to enhance the lives of people living with Developmental Disabilities which will lead them to a productive, independent, and socially integrated life in their communities.

Express Workforce Foundation is pleased to announce the annual Road Trip to Independence on September 24-26, 2017.  The Annual Road Trip to Independence will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada with 40 EWF Clients and their families and or caregiver.  The itinerary includes (3) stops:  a visit to the "Shade Tree," a homeless shelter for women and children, which will serve as an opportunity for the clients to learn social responsibility by giving back to the homeless, the Veterans Village of Las Vegas, transitional housing for United States Veterans and an outing to the Michael Jackson show at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino.

For many of these EWF clients this will be their first time traveling out of town on a Road Trip; but after this type of experience, they will become completely comfortable in a world that they have never known.

ABOUT EXPRESS WORKFORCE FOUNDATION

Express Workforce Foundation supports programs for our clients vendored through the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center and Inland Regional Center as well. The program allows us to work with clients to prepare them to apply and get hired in jobs in their community. We will provide a job coach to assist them once they're hired with the objective of fading out the coach once the client is fully trained and able to do the job independently.
