| Professional Recognition for WOU's Business Programmes Facilitates Career ProgressionHence, it came as no surprise when WOU's Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting (BBAC) programme obtained accreditation from the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC). This degree programme has already gained recognition and exemptions from international professional bodies such as Chartered Management Institute of Accountants (CIMA), Institute Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia) as well as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). WOU's Accounting degree programme also meets the eligibility requirements for graduates to apply for the Malaysian Institute of Accounting (MIA) qualifying examination. Lee Yen Ling from Kuching, a graduate of WOU's BBAC programme will be taking her MIA qualifying examination soon. She had opted to pursue her degree in Accounting with WOU as she could not find a more suitable learning institution than WOU. "WOU offers quality, undergraduate part-time programmes at an affordable rate". She found it hard to locate other learning institutions that came close to WOU in these aspects. Interested applicants who obtained Grade C (SGP 2.0) in at least two (2) subjects / two (2) Principals in STPM / HSC / A-Level or Five (5) grade Bs in UECSenior Middle III with a pass in Maths and English can gain direct admission into the business programmes. Potential candidates will be required pass the APEL assessment, which comprise of the APEL aptitude test and portfolio assessment, in order to obtain admission into the intended programme of study.
