Benson, who has also completed continuing education courses in finance from the Wharton School, was one of 15 carefully selected participants – from a pool of 140 applicants nationwide – from the following categories: DOBE, LGTBE, MBE, VBE and WBE. Over a four-month period from July 15 to October 20, Benson, along with other senior-level executives, studied areas such as financing and budget, leadership, management, technology, human resources and communications. Classes were held both on-site and online. The kick-off session for the Executive Learning Series was held at the CVS headquarters in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and culminated with a graduation ceremony and Ruby Awards Dinner in Providence, Rhode Island.
