Author Emphasizes Positive, Inspiring Messages in Fictional Y.A. Series

Author Joan Scibienski is determined to bring positive messages of empowerment in a time of deep discord in our country. A trained intuitive counselor, "The Ariana Series" and the newly released Workbook discuss techniques for healing & growth.

TOPEKA, Kan. - Dec. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Flint Hills Publishing announces the completion of The Ariana Series with the recent publication of The Ariana Series Workbook, a non-fiction work that provides exercises and meditations to compliment the spiritual and metaphysical information provided in the Y.A. fiction books The Ariana Series: Be the Light, Becoming the Light, and Fighting Darkness.

Author Joan L. Scibienski's series centers around a group of ASU college freshmen that are experiencing unusual events that challenge them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The characters range from a young woman who must release the pain of an emotionally and physically abusive childhood; a young male-to-female transgender whose family rejects her; a brilliant young girl who must learn how to live in an adult world, a grief-stricken girl who connects deeply with animals; and a young man who returns to his shaman grandfather to learn how to cleanse the pain of an abusive childhood.

Though the book is fiction, the storylines are developed in a way to help the reader consider deep philosophical and spiritual topics. Scibienski's easy-to-read writing style allows for a clear examination of complex issues facing many young adults while also making the characters easy to like and root for as they move through their challenges.

Says Scibienski, "Many young people are stressed and confused by recent events in our country. Many understand at a deep level the problems facing the world and the importance of taking immediate, bold action to protect the environment, civil liberties, and economic justice, for example. They are feeling uncertain about the future and how to proceed. The three novels in The Ariana Series explain in a story-form narrative that each of us have inner resources we may not even realize. My goal in writing these books is to focus on how our inner power—and by that I do mean our 'psychic abilities'—can and should be used for positive change in the world. I am very concerned that people hear these positive messages and consequently have bundled the entire series, four books, in electronic format for $4.99"
