VALHALLA, N.Y. - Dec. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- On December 16, 2016, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Scott Shannon and the on-air morning show team from WCBS FM 101.1 will broadcast live from Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla, New York - a day that is a perennial favorite at the Hospital.

This year patients, family members, staff and supporters will enjoy performances from Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas (who returns for his 17th consecutive appearance), Mark Rivera (Billy Joel's sax player), Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti (America's Got Talent finalist), Jax (American Idol finalist), and Tim McLoone & Holiday Express.

Scott Shannon has been a longtime supporter of Blythedale's mission and has helped raise more than $4 million through his radio benefits over the last 24 years. Last year's benefit raised nearly $85,000 for Blythedale's Child Life Program. All proceeds from this year's Holiday Spectacular will support Blythedale's Residency Training Program - Training medical professionals of the future in pediatric pulmonology, physical medicine/rehabilitation, child psychiatry and orthopedics.
