PHOENIX - Nov. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- The paintings are from the artist' solo museum exhibits. The pastels were
viewed in art museums in mid America and the former Soviet Union.

The original pastels were created at the height of his painting career about twenty-five years ago. During this period Burgess was developing his social realism paintings that explored issues that America was facing in the 1980's and 90's.

At this time the artist developed and implemented an historic artist exchange with the Stavropol Territorial Museum of Art and the Union of Soviet Socialist Artists Gallery in Stavropol, Russia.

This is a great opportunity for people to purchase a museum quality painting directly from the artist and become part of the history (provenance) of the original artwork with the added benefit of giving to the less fortunate of our diverse society.

The artworks have documented museum provenance are priced at $4,500-$15,000 plus shipping costs. You are buying directly from the artist and 25% of the sale will be donated to smaller non-profits that offer support to families that may need a helping hand.

The paintings that are for sale are on view on the Museum-of-Art.net website:

Paintings History....
The pastel paintings respectfully tell the human side of many unique cultures in our America. The paintings go beyond simply having a visual experience, the artworks deal with tough topics and address issues of social concern.

Traveling the back roads and streets the artist meet people that catch his attention. All the people have interesting stories. Some of the people portrayed years ago were experiencing extreme hardships that they overcame to find balance in their lives.

Unfortunately the background subject matter of many years ago is still in the headlines today. The small family owned farms have been replaced by corporate farming, the homeless problem remains unresolved, the First Americans rights are in the news and racial issues again dominate.

About Pastels....
These pastel paintings are made with natural pigments and are the oldest form of painting known to man. The paintings are created on archival Canson mi-teintes paper which has been made for centuries in France. The paintings are
archivally protected to retain the vibrant colors for centuries unlike oil and acrylic paintings which change colors, crack and deteriorate when exposed to our contaminated air and elements.

The mats and frames were designed by the artist to withstand international shipping. The paintings are ready to hang. Ten of the paintings have a Soviet custom stamp on the back of the painting. All the original paintings come with a handmade envelope with a embossed seal and hand signed documents of authenticity by the artist.
