Fall AutoFest Wraps the 2016 Carlisle Events Season Schedule

LAKELAND, Fla. - Nov. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- For the second consecutive November in Lakeland, Florida, Carlisle Events brought its internationally known brand of automotive excellence to the SUN 'n FUN Campus for a four-day automotive extravaganza known as Fall AutoFest.  Not only did the weekend welcome Miss Florida, it also ushered in a totally different type of beauty, style and elegance in the form of a car show, collector car auction and motor coach rally known as the Air & Coach Concours.  It all happened November 10-13, 2016 and just like last year's first offering at SUN 'n FUN, it was the kind of success that has guests anxious for more.

From the time the gates opened on Thursday the 10^th until the last vendor loaded out on the 13^th, Fall AutoFest catered to families, friends and automotive enthusiasts of all ages, genders, races and maybe most importantly, from all around the Sunshine State.  The car show featured hundreds of classics, including dozens of orphan cars.  The orphan display was hosted by the Chrysler-Maserati TC America Club and not only showcased those unique rides from Chrysler's past, but also some Hudson's, Kaiser's, AMCs and more.  The Ford Performance Club of Florida also produced a strong showing of some of Ford's best, including many high performance Mustangs.  As with any good car show, multiple awards were doled out, sending many owners home with a unique memory of their time in Lakeland.

The swap meet and car corral were bustling too.  Enthusiasts combed the grounds looking for those hard to find automotive pieces and parts, collectibles, antiques and more.  Some guests were able to make a deal on a classic within the car corral and drive home with their first or next classic car.

Speaking of finding one's first or next classic, the two-day collector car auction backed by Carlisle Auctions brought the grounds an added level of excitement.  Over 400+ classics crossed the block spanning nearly 100 years of history.  Boats, planes and motor coaches were even part of the lots available to the masses who registered to bid.

An event like this would not be complete without guests and attractions and Fall AutoFest had that and then some.  Not only did Miss Florida come to Lakeland, so did a Wall of Death thrill show, the Batmobile, Batcycle and Batcopter from the iconic '60s TV as well as pilots offering rides in vintage airplanes.  In all, it was a great weekend for guests of all backgrounds and Carlisle Events is looking forward to seeing everyone again in February for Winter AutoFest.  This show runs February 23-26, 2017!
