Hair Salons and Formaldehyde Exposure Concerns Discussed in New Video

PHOENIX - Nov. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of their latest educational video.  Their newest production discusses potential formaldehyde exposure concerns for hair salon workers due to some products used for hair smoothing.

"Several years ago, OSHA conducted air sampling at multiple salons and found formaldehyde in the air when stylists were using various hair smoothing products," said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates and the IAQ Video Network.  "Some of these products were labeled formaldehyde free or did not list formaldehyde on the product label or in the Material Safety Data Sheet. Formaldehyde is a known cancer-causing substance in addition to other negative health effects that workers could experience who are exposed to elevated levels of it in the air they breathe."
