Allen Whetsell, General Manager of Craig Flagler Palms, is celebrating 15 Years with the company

PALM COAST, Fla. - Nov. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Allen Whetsell, General Manager of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens & Crematory is pleased to announce that he is celebrating 15 years with the company, and 45 years in the industry.

"I started working at a funeral home when my grandmother found me a summer job at a funeral home in West Virginia," said Allen. "I learned quickly that it wasn't a job, that it was a vocation," he added. Allen said that he was attracted to caring for people and helping get them through a tough time.

Allen, originally from West Virginia, worked in Naples and Ft. Lauderdale, and was asked by his boss to come look at the Flagler Beach location to see if he could help make it a successful. He told the staff when he got here to 'care about the people, and the people will care about us.' That philosophy has worked – the business has continued to grow since Allen arrived in 2001. For example, the building at the time was 4,300 sq ft, it's now 11,000 sq ft, with more additions coming soon. Allen is all in when it comes to community involvement, he's been a Flagler County Chamber member since he arrived, a Kiwanis member for over 30 years, and past Lieutenant Governor, Past President of the Flagler County Education Foundation, a past Flagler Auditorium board member, a former Flagler Beach Chamber board member, and a two-time Past President of the Family Life Center.

Allen's vision for the future is to continue to grow and always serve families first. One of his passions is to improve the lives of children. He's an advocate for higher education scholarships and volunteers on boards that distribute educational scholarships.
