La Leche League International Holds Photo Contest in Honor of 60th Anniversary

MORRISVILLE, N.C. - Oct. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- La Leche League International (LLLI) is holding a Photo Contest in Honor of its 60^th Anniversary. The photo contest, Focus on Breastfeeding, is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the association and gives participants the chance to highlight their communities. Beginning on November 1, 2016, participants will be able to submit photos relating to four categories through February 1, 2017. The four categories are: Breastfeeding Everywhere, Skin-to-Skin Contact, Breastfeeding and Working, and Special Moments. These four categories were created to encourage the portrayal of the broad field of human lactation in a wide variety of scenarios including breastfeeding in various cultural contexts around the globe.

All photographs should be sent to photos@llli.org and must be originals in digital format (minimum 1,000-pixel size). Pictures will be accepted in both full color and monochrome. Every photograph must be accompanied by the following information: title of the photograph, the category it belongs to, the name of the photographer, and the photographer's email address.

When submitting their picture, participants, or legal guardians of participants if under 18, must also sign a release form which can be found on LLLI's website. Once signed, this release gives LLLI permission to use the picture in any of its publications. All submissions must include a signed release or they will be disqualified.

A panel of judges to assess the pictures will be composed of the LLLI Board of Directors, administrators of various La Leche League (LLL) websites, and professional photographers. These judges will choose one winner in each of the four categories who will then be awarded LLLI publications worth up to US$100. In addition, one Overall First Prize will be awarded, at the judges' discretion, and will be displayed on the LLLI site for at least one month with the author's name and a citation.

Please note: LLLI supports the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes. Therefore, images with bottles, pacifiers, or any other items not permitted by the WHO Code will not be accepted.
