The Parker Foundation for Autism and Child Development and SOAK Supporting Our ASD Kids, Inc are teaming up to bring special celebrity speakers, local talented young performers, cheer and dance troups, family fun activities, visits from local organizations and giveaways for FREE at this first annual "Be a Buddy - Stop Bullying" Jamboree and Family Fun day! Our audience is families of all ages with or without disabilities, with the focus on interactive and empowering topics," shares Mary Cancel, VP of SOAK Supporting Our ASD Kids, Inc. "We have an expected attendance of at least 1000 and are honored to have Jaimie Engle participating as a local celebrity guest speaker." Jaimie will speak on her journey through bullying as a mother and how it transformed into a writing and speaking career. "My son was bullied, and I didn't want it to happen to anyone else," shares Jaimie Engle, author of Clifton Chase and the Arrow of Light, an anti-bullying fantasy adventure novel for kids. "That experience inspired me to write a book about a bullied boy and how he learns to stand up for himself, which led to an opportunity to speak to kids about their part in bullying, in schools across the country."
