"Touching Our Inner Source: Intuitive Painting and Meditation" will be led by spiritual facilitator Sister Rose Ann Trzil, OSF, and art instructor Rosemary Pearson, MSAT. They will encourage participants in the transformative movement of prayer and art. Because our individual understanding of the holy is always evolving, the workshop provides a rare and sacred opportunity to listen, vision, and create. Each participant will receive an illustration board and a watercolor wheel. There will be time for group sharing in an environment designed to inspire and encourage. Guiding the meditation will be Sister Rose Ann, who is spiritual director of Sophia House, Milwaukee, where she offers a variety of classes and other spiritual opportunities, such as retreats, and book and Scripture study, using each person's experience as the primary resource. Art instruction on intuitive painting will be provided by Ms. Pearson, an Alverno College instructor, artist, and art therapist. Her primary goal for art making is discovery of self and an energy larger than one's self, as well as the connection between the two. She believes that art is the work of, and essential to, the development of the soul. Advance registration is required to ensure that enough materials are special-ordered. The fee of $45 covers all supplies and lunch. Contact: St. Joseph Center is located at 1501 S. Layton Boulevard (Greenfield Ave. at 27th St.), Milwaukee, WI 53215. All visitors are welcome to view both exhibits free of charge.
