Exploring Ideal Spaces at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition Venice

International research & artist team exhibit on the Venice Architectural Biennale with an interactive installation

KARLSRUHE, Germany - Aug. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- What does Tony Garnier's "Cité Industrielle" and Leonardo's "Water city" have in common? They both share – among others – the search for an ideal place. In times of more and more people becoming refugees these ancient ideas gain in relevance.

"Reporting from the front" – the motto of the current Biennale. One of these fronts, if not the most important one, is that utopia is not dead. On the contrary, it became practical. And we show how.

By exhibiting a combination of ideal city spaces, active participation of the visitors molding their own spaces, and symbolic representation we try to give the idea an image. Our installation is also a high-tech project that uses diverse technologies in new ways, also new techniques and programming developed by us. We believe this is necessary because the best way to communicate is to shape an experience.

Utopia is a mythic theme full of hopes and dreams, and at the same time, very practical yet intangible. Today, the majority of human beings live in urban agglomerations which are far away from being 'ideal' but chaotic, accompanied by an actual destruction of space unprecedented in history. In parallel, never before so many technical possibilities of imagining spaces existed, allowing for escape into worlds of fantasy, dream, and game. Space is lost, and at the same time multiplied. But human beings need space, also real one deserving the name, and they need community.
