He portrayed the character of Joseph, Mary's husband, in a Christmas play, holding a doll which represented baby Jesus. The first film he worked on was at Smythe Elementary School in San Ysidro, CA, where his character was a hot headed teacher. Joey's first major stage production was at Mar Vista High School where he played a very concerned doctor. He received the best supporting actor award for this production. In addition, Joey appeared on channel 10 San Diego, CA. After that, he decided to formally study the dramatic arts, starting at Casa De La Cultura in Tinuana, Mexico and then transferring to South Western College in San Diego. Joey Valdez married at a very young age and had a family. It was not until 6 years ago that he moved to Los Angeles. At the time, Joey did not pursue an acting career; he was just looking for a good paying job. However, he decided that since he was there, he would try to put his foot in the door. He started working on internet productions. Six months later he was working on a pilot tv series in Spanish called (Vayaconmigo) Joey Valdez also worked with Alex Cox and Roxana Arquette in the film "Repo Chic". Currently, Joey Valdez is receiving much attention for the short film "Tacos For Lunch". Since then, Joey has been in a number of Spanish TV shows and commercials, and has interviewed some of the most recognized actors in Hollywood. He will currently be co-hosting Miss/Mrs Diversity and Miss/Mrs Diversity News beauty pageants produced by Steven Escobar from Diversity News Productions. He is also trying to get his original sketch comedy "No Matches" that is currently in pre-production and he will be directing and producing with Veronica Lopez from Estrella TV Las Vegas.
