Doc's Codicil by Gary F. Jones Recently Named Winner in the 2015 INDIEFAB Book Awards

OMAHA, Neb. - June 30, 2016 - PRLog -- BQB Publishing, an imprint of Boutique of Quality Books Publishing Company, is pleased to announce Doc's Codicil by Gary F. Jones of Omaha, Nebraska has been recognized as a Bronze winner in the 18^th annual Foreword Reviews' INDIEFAB 2015  Book of the Year Awards. The winners were announced on June 25^th during the American Library Association's Annual Conference.

Doc's Codicil is an amusing tale of a cryptic codicil that Wisconsin veterinarian Doc attaches to his will. After his death, Doc's family learns that to inherit his fortune, they must decipher and solve the puzzle-"Take Doofus squirrel-fishing." Humor abounds as this mismatched lot tries to find time in their hectic lives to work together to solve the puzzle. In the end, will they realize that fortune comes in many guises?

INDIEFAB received close to 2,000 entries in 66 categories in the 2015 Book of the Year Awards. A panel of librarians and booksellers, along with Foreword Reviews' editorial staff, chose what they consider to be the year's best books published by independent publishers, university presses, and self-published authors. Foreword's INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards program was created to discover distinctive books from the indie publishing community across a number of genres.

About the Author

Gary Jones is one of the last generation of rural veterinarians who remembers working with cows that had names and personalities and dairymen who worked in the barn with their families. He's also part of the first wave of Baby Boomers, crusty codgers who are writing their wills and grousing about kids who can be damned condescending at times. Gary practiced bovine medicine in rural Wisconsin for nineteen years, returned to graduate school at the University of Minnesota, earned a PhD in microbiology, and spent the next nineteen years working on the development of bovine and swine vaccines.

Gary's second book, A Jerk, A Jihad, and A Virus was released by BQB Publishing in May of 2016.
