Restaurant Group Joins Forces to "Take a Bite out of Heart Disease"

Patrons Help to Raise over $1,400 for the American Heart Association

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - June 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Six restaurants and one bar, all a part of the Coastal Restaurants & Bars restaurant group on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina partnered with the American Heart Association and Hilton Head Regional Medical Center in raising funds to bring attention to the Lowcountry chapter of the American Heart Association and the Palmetto Heart Walk (held at Shelter Cove Community Park on Hilton Head Island on April 30th, 2016). The group highlighted and featured heart healthy menu items available on restaurant menus from April 24 to May 7, 2016. A portion of the purchase was then set aside for the Association. Featured item sales helped to raise over $1,400.00 for the American Heart Association during the two-week promotion. The promotion brought to light the importance of maintaining a heart-healthy lifestyle; especially in an area with a large demographic that is heavily impacted by heart disease. Patrons were happy to participate and learn that heart healthy options are available on lunch and dinner menus across the Island all year long. The Boardroom, the bar and live music venue, sold the Association's iconic red hearts to patrons in lieu of offering menu options.

"The opportunity to help support our local community fight the number one cause of death and stroke in South Carolina is something our Group could not pass up. Our local community is very aware of the effects of heart disease, and we are happy to do what we can to support our local hospital and The Walk," says Erin Reilley Booth. Erin is one of the managing partners of Reilley's Grill & Bar located on Hilton Head Island, a restaurant which has been on the Island for over 34 years. "We would like to see a decline in heart disease across all ages of those effected, and this was a great, and healthy, way to show our support for both our local medical community and The American Heart Association," says Lindsy Bentz, Marketing Director for Coastal Restaurants and Bars.

About Coastal Restaurants and Bars:  The team behind Coastal Restaurants & Bars pride themselves on being, "Island grown and operated."
