CENTENNIAL, Colo. - June 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Physicians and physical therapists are recommending Tai Chi every day to their patients.  And it's really no wonder that they are: the benefits are numerous and have been well documented.  Tai Chi has been proven to:

*Improve balance, flexibility and muscle strength

  *Reduce anxiety and depression

  *Reduce falls in older adults

  *Improve sleep quality

  *Lower blood pressure

  *Relieve chronic pain

*Improve cardiovascular fitness in older adults

  *Increase energy, endurance, and agility

  *Improve overall feeling of well-being

This is an impressive list, isn't it?  Especially in a time when the medical community it helping people live longer, but not necessarily better. But just what is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a martial art that utilizes gentle, flowing movements to enhance health in the body and the mind. It has been called "movement meditation" and it really is the perfect workout for the everyday person.  In a very approachable style, Dianne Bailey "opens the door" to Tai Chi so you can begin to understand what it can do for you.  As a career martial artist with over 22 years experience, Dianne explains that she feels the martial arts community has kept Tai Chi hidden from the everyday person. They have demanded that anyone interested in teaching Tai Chi must learn from a Master with a lineage. And anyone interested in taking classes must adopt the martial arts lifestyle and philosophy. "This is a grave disservice to the very population that can benefit most from Tai Chi," says Dianne. "There aren't enough instructors. There aren't enough classes.  The classes that exist are crowded and intimidating so beginners don't even want to try them."

This scarcity of instructors and classes is what drove Dianne to creating the Open the Door to Tai Chi system which allows the everyday person to learn Tai Chi.  It also provides a system for those people who want to learn to teach Tai Chi, but don't necessarily want to travel to China to study from a Master and devote years before being able to teach.

Open the Door to Tai Chi . . . Tai Chi for the Everyday Person introduces you to the history of Tai Chi and details the many benefits as well.  Dianne provides an extensive list of studies that prove these benefits, but the book stays very readable and doesn't bog down by becoming a scholarly report.  Dianne also covers the basic principles of Tai Chi so that you begin to understand it is much more than a set of movements.  These principles are critical for you to reap the benefits ot Tai Chi. Many people think that one can simply watch a video and learn the form. Dianne explains how this is very one-dimensional and does not provide the right environment for the everyday person to understand the practice of Tai Chi.

While the book does provide pictures and explanations of each move in the Yang style 24 Form, Dianne strongly urges the reader to find a class and experience Tai Chi with others. The book is filled with testimonials from everyday people who have benefited in different ways from attending classes and incorporating Tai Chi into their lives.  These stories are the hidden gems in this book.  Dianne expalins that she wanted the stories to " inspire others to try Tai Chi. After all, if these people can do it, so can you!"

Open the Door to Tai Chi . . . Tai Chi for the Everyday Person is available on Amazon. You can also learn more about the Open the Door to Tai Chi system at http://www.taichisystem.com.
