AMITYVILLE, N.Y. - June 23, 2016 - PRLog -- The Specialty Food Association announced that they will posthumously induct Leonard Wurzel, founding father of Calico Cottage, Inc., into their Hall of Fame at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York on June 27, 2016. As the creator and market leader of in-store, small-space fudge retailing programs, Calico Cottage has cultivated partnerships with retailers worldwide and sweetened their success for over 52 years. This latest accolade comes on the heels of Wurzel's posthumous induction into the Candy Hall of Fame last year.

"We are overjoyed that this honor was bestowed upon our father and delighted that his legacy will live on through his induction into the Specialty Food Association Hall of Fame," said Mark Wurzel, President, and Larry Wurzel, Vice President of Innovation at Calico Cottage, Inc.

The Association established its Hall of Fame in 2015 to recognize outstanding individuals who have pioneered and contributed significantly to the specialty food industry. The Specialty Food Association's mission is to "honor individuals whose accomplishments, impact, contributions, innovations, and successes within the specialty food industry deserve praise and recognition."

"The specialty food industry is thriving because of Leonard's contributions," said Ron Tanner, VP, Philanthropy, Government & Industry Relations Officer of the Specialty Food Association.
