New "AirBroidery" Patches By Distinctive Designs 21 Grab Attention of Active Apparel Manufacturers

LOS ANGELES - June 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Distinctive Designs 21 announced today that it has added "AirBroidery" patches and appliques to its comprehensive lineup of apparel trim solutions. According to the company, the new "AirBroidery" branded trim can be made 19% to 33% lighter in weight than typical patches of the same size due to their use of a custom-manufactured yarn that has a thinner denier and is designed to withstand the harsh embroidery process.

"Customers kept telling us that the problem could not be solved," added Mr. Weiner. "We set out to redesign patches from the ground up, eventually settling on a polyester yarn that is not normally used for this type of application. It has worked beautifully in garment performance tests to give makers both the branding value and consumer wear-ability they want."

The new patches and appliques can be adhered to synthetic apparel in the same ways as traditional patches, including self-stick and activated adhesives. Due to their lighter weight, AirBroidery patches can be shipped to customers' contract locations for less than cases of traditional patches.
