LOS ANGELES - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- In a time when many consider expressions of respect weakness, author Bill Garwin, in his new novel, GONE WRONG, offers readers heroes who, at first, attempt only to defend and enforce the day-to-day rights that allow us to mutually coexist: the right to privacy, personal space, freedom from embarrassment, and that the first in line shall be served first. Three seemingly unremarkable residents of the federally developed city-state, Norcal, seek to teach lessons that were once a fundamental part of human existence. Their efforts soon bring on a dangerous and deadly response. Although these heroes lack flashy costumes and supernatural powers, they quickly gain attention and respect, as well as the wrath of the most influential and powerful man in the experimental utopia.

Residents of Norcal live in a city-state in which numerous programs such as driverless cars and legal drug use are tested on the residents who are implanted with a "resident chip," supported by satellite borders, which provides continuous data to researchers. Norcal attracts an array of people, including government lobbyists, because of the massive amounts of funding the government provides.

While Norcal has lived up to its promise of providing an exciting and profitable place to live, the structure of the experiment has resulted in an attitude of entitlement. The social contract is broken and discarded. That is until three unlikely heroes emerge to challenge the new status quo. Journalist Crystal Lange sees hope in the actions of the trio she names the Paladins. The avengers come together under the guidance and training of a former Navy SEAL.

The heroes' destiny changes abruptly when they are asked to help a government agent who has come to Norcal to audit the programs being conducted in the city-state and to identify the material being used as a backup source for the mysteriously successful wind turbine project under federal scrutiny. The trio's mission soon becomes dangerous and bigger than their original goal of restoring common decency.

GONE WRONG is a unique take on the current state of human relationships. "Respect and manners matter," Garwin states. "They are the basis of all human interaction. When you continually insult and belittle the other guy, you get nothing done. You end up with the spectacle of two men running for the position of the most powerful office in the world comparing the sizes of their hands."

GONE WRONG is a timely piece that symbolizes where humankind is headed if mutual respect continues to be ignored. Garwin believes that "what we are experiencing on a daily basis in America moves us closer to the enviroment in Norcal."
