They are an innovative competency-based public school with two New Hampshire campuses: Manchester and Monadnock. Serving grades 6-12. MC2 seeks to uncover, recover, and discover the unique gifts and talents each individual brings to school every day. "Project Foundry is a necessary tool that supports the competency based learning at the heart of the MC2 design: set learning goals, design learning, apply learning, document learning, defend learning. It allows us to get detailed, timely data that provides valuable feedback as well as helps students grow in their ability to take control of their own learning. "We value the opportunity to be part of a collaborative network of schools, where we can share, critique, and brainstorm best practices that keep students at the center of learning." - Elizabeth Cardine (MC2) MC2 creates conditions that enable students to use their voices effectively and with integrity. The school continues to grow and flourish since its opening in 2011, receiving the Commissioner's Circle of Excellence Award. In addition, MC2 is recognized as one of ten national Education Reimagined Model Schools. Project Foundry has worked closely with MC2 for the past two years and looks forward to continuing collaboration for competency-based deeper learning and the well being of MC2 learners. "We work with many innovative schools, and what makes working with MC2 so great is that it's not just their mission that is grounded in meaningful and authentic student agency, but their daily practices as well. Schools often do a good job of identifying the the challenges at hand with the traditional model, but don't tend to the nuances of an effective implementation utilizing research-validated, healthier approaches. MC2's team does this and pays it forward by generously sharing (and inspiring) other educators with the eurekas, bumps, and bruises they continue to have in service to fulfilling their mission." - Shane Krukowski (Project Foundry) To learn more about Featured Schools or Project Foundry, visit projectfoundry.com (http://www.projectfoundry.com/ End
