MC2 Charter School

MILWAUKEE-May 1, 2016

Project Foundry is showcasing one of their Project Foundry Featured Schools, Making Community Connections Charter School (MC2). They are an innovative competency-based public school with two New Hampshire campuses: Manchester and Monadnock. Serving grades 6-12.  MC2 seeks to uncover, recover, and discover the unique gifts and talents each individual brings to school every day.

"Project Foundry is a necessary tool that supports the competency based learning at the heart of the MC2 design: set learning goals, design learning, apply learning, document learning, defend learning. It allows us to get detailed, timely data that provides valuable feedback as well as helps students grow in their ability to take control of their own learning.

MC2 creates conditions that enable students to use their voices effectively and with integrity. The school continues to grow and flourish since its opening in 2011, receiving the Commissioner's Circle of Excellence Award. In addition, MC2 is recognized as one of ten national Education Reimagined Model Schools. Project Foundry has worked closely with MC2 for the past two years and looks forward to continuing collaboration for competency-based deeper learning and the well being of MC2 learners.
